OPEN WATER SWIMMING
Operated by Aqua Park Lakeside and situated beside the Intu Lakeside Shopping Centre, at West Thurrock, Essex, Alexandra Lake provides an idyllic, clean, and sheltered venue for open water swimming. Our newly renovated watersports centre will re-open 1st May for the summer season.

Open water swimming is beneficial to your mental health, fitness and wellbeing. There is something very unique about immersing yourself in nature you when you swim, whatever the season. Our friendly team are always on hand to make your session as enjoyable as possible. When you swim with us, you’re part of the Swim Lakeside community.
IMMERSE YOURSELF
The lake is clean and maintained for swimming and we have a range of marked courses from 50m to 200m for you to complete. Our new 400m loop is now open along with our new changing rooms and hot showers. Our sessions are Lifeguarded and designed to allow you to build confidence in open water and start your open water swimming journey safely whether you're swimming to get fit or an experienced triathlete, everyone is welcome.

We are proud to be using the NOWCA system to run our sessions. You can register and pay for a NOWCA safety wristband to collect on your next visit to us on the ACTIO app. The wristband enables you to start logging your swim distance and time so you can track your performance. We can then track you safely in and out of the water every time you swim on one of our sessions.
